1942

1942
This photo of my father was taken in about 1942 on the farm where they lived. Back then everyone had a veggie garden, in fact it was imperative where they lived as supermarkets didn't exist and the local general store would have been some distance away. Living on a farm, you were self-sufficient when it came to food resources. What you could grow is what you ate. Meat was killed on site, the orchard was full of fruit trees - full flavoured fruit and the garden was edible.

Materials used: WeR papers and elements, Martha Stewart punch,Twiddlybitz chipboard and inks. I have distressed and inked the papers and photo for an aged look, torn and stitched the edges and punched one of the paper edges. The chipboard has been inked with chalk inks and the eye of the bird filled with Liquid pearls. I love these Twiddlybitz birds (4 pack of mixed funky birds) and impressed with how well the fit to different styles of layouts.
